Changes to Text Message Notifications

We’ve moved to a new service to send checkout receipts, hold notifications, and overdue notices to patrons via text message.

Due to recent mobile phone carrier restrictions, we’ve moved to a new service to send checkout receipts, hold notifications, and overdue notices to patrons via text message.

Some changes you can expect to see:

  • Library account text messages will arrive from a different number. These messages are from our new service and are not spam.

  • All mobile customers are now able to receive text messages. Under our previous service, Sprint and T‑Mobile customers could not receive text notifications.

  • Pre-overdue notices will no longer go out through text messages. If you would like to receive pre-overdue notices, we recommend signing up for email notifications.

If you would like to change your notification preferences at any time, you may do so by updating the settings on your library account. Staff at your local branch can also update your notification preferences. Be sure to bring your library card or ID for the update.
