Friends of the Library groups are composed of volunteers who support their local library branches. Membership is open to all. The mission of the Friends of the Library is to promote interest in, use of, and public support for the DeKalb County Public Library. Friends volunteer their time and resources to help provide high quality library services, books, and materials for their community libraries.

In these days of budget cuts, the need is greater than ever for members of the community to step up and help our libraries. We Need You. Your Library Needs You. To join, visit your local library and complete a membership form.
Friends raise money through dues and book sales to fund many important services at their local library branches such as:

Volunteer opportunities include planning programs, helping at book sales, special events, and library projects.
