Research an industry

Before starting a business, it is important to understand the industry you will be joining.

To begin your research, you will need to know the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code or North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for your goods and/or services. These codes can be found at http://www.census.gov/eos/www/naics/.

Once you have identified your industry, use the following resources to learn more. And don’t forget to check the DeKalb County Public Library catalog to find additional resources on your particular area of interest.
