Kanopy is Here!

Kanopy is a video stream­ing ser­vice that pro­vides instant access to thou­sands of crit­i­cal­ly acclaimed movies, doc­u­men­taries and kid favorites. They part­ner with stu­dios like A24, The Cri­te­ri­on Col­lec­tion, PBS and more to pro­vide ad-free view­ing for DeKalb Coun­ty Library cardholders.

You can stream Kanopy on any of your favorite devices. Kanopy is acces­si­ble via mobile and tablet apps for iPhone and Android. You can also access Kanopy on your desk­top and SmartTV apps like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire Stick.

Play cred­its are used to play videos on Kanopy. You will receive 5 play cred­its per month through Dekalb Coun­ty Pub­lic Library. Each video will use 1 play cred­it each with the excep­tion of those in Kanopy Kids. Once you press play on a video and a play cred­it has been used, you will have 3 days to view it as many times as you like with­out using anoth­er play cred­it. Your play cred­its will reset back to 5 on the 1^st day of each month.

Get­ting start­ed is easy! Click here to enter your library card infor­ma­tion. Fol­low the sim­ple instruc­tions to cre­ate your Kanopy account using your email address or Facebook/​Google login and then start watching.

Kanopy Kids is our col­lec­tion of enrich­ing, edu­ca­tion­al and enter­tain­ing movies and shows just for kids. Once a user clicks play on any title in the Kanopy Kids col­lec­tion, they have access to all titles in this col­lec­tion for the next 30 days — no play cred­its required! Kanopy Kids is appro­pri­ate for chil­dren ages 2 and up, with a focus on Kids age 2 – 8. Par­ents can also choose to imple­ment parental con­trols to enable them to stay with­in the ded­i­cat­ed Kanopy Kids area for age-appro­pri­ate content.

Unlock­ing a Great Cours­es title pro­vides you with access to all of the indi­vid­ual videos with­in the course. Because of their size, Great Cours­es titles check out for 30 days.
