DeKalb County Public Library is expanding its electronic collection this March with the launch of OneClick Digital. The new collection offers Pimsleur foreign language courses in downloadable audiobook format and classic titles in both downloadable audio and eBook formats.
“We expect this collection to be very popular,” says Joyce Baker, Acquisitions Librarian. “It will be a very useful supplement to our OverDrive collection of eBooks and downloadable audiobooks.
DeKalb County Public Library is offering a wide array of interesting and entertaining programs you won’t want to miss during Black History Month this February, 2016. Programs for everyone, from children to seniors, have been scheduled.

The DeKalb Library Foundation raised more than $25,000 in support of DeKalb County Public Library at its September 24 fundraiser, A Novel Affair: Books & Bites, held at the DeKalb History Center. That included $6,500 raised for Fund-A-Need, which will support the Library's new 1000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative that will launch in 2016.
Approximately 200 people attended the event that included a live auction, great food and a panel that talked about cooking and writing about food. The panel featured Steven Satterfield, executive chef and co-owner of Miller Union; Eddie Hernandez, chef and co-owner of Taqueria del Sol; and Susan Puckett, author of Eat Drink Delta, and was moderated by Georgia Center for the Book Executive Director Joe Davich.

The DeKalb Library Foundation will host a fabulous fundraiser this fall that will benefit literacy programs at DeKalb County Public Library and fund the purchase of additional books and materials for the Library’s collection. A Novel Affair: Books and Bites will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the DeKalb History Center in Decatur.
This will be a one-of-a-kind event and will include some of the best food and drinks found in DeKalb County, entertainment by food writers and an auction. Tickets will be available beginning Monday, August 10. Click here to find out more about the fundraiser and the work of the Foundation.
