Foundation Fundraiser a Big Success

The DeKalb Library Foundation raised more than $25,000 in support of DeKalb County Public Library at its September 24 fundraiser, A Novel Affair: Books & Bites, held at the DeKalb History Center. That included $6,500 raised for Fund-A-Need, which will support the Library's new 1000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative that will launch in 2016.

Approximately 200 people attended the event that included a live auction, great food and a panel that talked about cooking and writing about food. The panel featured Steven Satterfield, executive chef and co-owner of Miller Union; Eddie Hernandez, chef and co-owner of Taqueria del Sol; and Susan Puckett, author of Eat Drink Delta, and was moderated by Georgia Center for the Book  Executive Director Joe Davich.
