2021 Summer Reading Challenge June 1 through July 31, 2021

School is out, summer is here and DeKalb County Public Library is open! It’s very important that everybody: babies, children, teens, parents and adults read and do literacy activities all summer long to keep the brain in shape. So, let’s get ready to read and do some fun activities by participating in DeKalb County Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge, Tails and Tales!

How Summer Reading Works:

  1. Patrons of all ages can participate in the Summer Reading Challenge.
  2. Register in Beanstack beginning May 24, 2021. https://dekalblibrary.beanstack.org/reader365
  3. We have a variety of programs, virtual storytimes, and fun activities during the summer for all ages! Check out our kids programs and adult programs.
  4. Everyone who completes their age-level challenge (Young Children, School Age, Teens) will receive a free book, and be entered into a raffle for great prizes, including but not limited to games, puzzles, gift cards, Amazon Kindles and more!
  5. Fine-Free Summer for kids and teens (June 1-August 31, 2021)—No library overdue fines on Juvenile and Young Adult materials.
  6. Badges are earned by completing different tasks depending on your age group. Log in to Beanstack for more details.
