Did you know students who experience out-of-school STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) related programs often develop more interest in these fields? The library is a great place for youth to gain knowledge and additional experiences through STEAM related programs.

The DeKalb Library Foundation funds robotics and coding classes at various library locations. Grants funded Mobile Makerspace Kits that staff may check out to host programs at their locations. These include activities such as 3D pens, snap circuits, VR technology, and a wind regatta. Other grants funded a Bits and Bots series which provides youth the opportunity to learn from and play with interactive robotics technology. The Decatur Makers organization also hosts STEAM related programs at the Decatur Library including construction and art projects.
