Passes and Devices

DeKalb County Public Library participates in programs made available through Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) and other agencies, which provide free passes to state parks and other attractions, as well as electronic devices for home use. Adult patrons with a valid DeKalb County Public Library card may borrow these materials at any of our branches. 

  • Center for Puppetry Arts: The Passport to Puppetry Program is a partnership with GPLS and the Center for Puppetry Arts. Passes check out for 7 days and allow free admission for up to 4 visitors to the Center for Puppetry Arts Museum, as well as a discount on select performances and workshops.   • Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites:  The Georgia ParkPass library loan program is a partnership with GPLS and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Passes check out for 7 days and allow up to 4 visitors to be admitted to state parks and historic sites at no charge. Passes also include free parking and a guide booklet.   • Go Fish Education Center:  The Go Fish Education Center Library Pass program is a partnership with GPLS and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division. Passes check out for 7 days and allow up to 4 visitors to be admitted to the Center at no charge. The Center is located in Perry, Georgia. Find information about the pass in the Library's catalog.   • Michael C. Carlos Museum: The Michael C. Carlos Museum Family Pass is a partnership with GPLS and the Michael C. Carlos Museum. Passes check out for 7 days and allow free admission for up to 6 visitors to the Michael C. Carlos Museum. Find information about the pass in the Library’s catalog.   • Southeastern Railway Museum:  The Southeastern Railway Museum Pass allows up to four visitors free admission to the Museum located in Duluth, Georgia. The Museum features a collection of wooden freight trains, vintage steam locomotives, Pullman cars, railway maintenance equipment and a variety of general transportation cars, buses, trolleys.   • Zoo Atlanta:  The Zoo Atlanta Family Pass program is a partnership with GPLS and Zoo Atlanta. Patrons must check out, watch and return the Zoo Atlanta DVD to receive a receipt, good for up to 14 days, for free admission for 4 visitors to Zoo Atlanta.   • Kill A Watt EZ Electricity Monitor: The Kill A Watt EZ Electricity Monitor is provided through a partnership with GPLS and the Governor's Energy Challenge to offer patrons an opportunity to measure the energy consumption of appliances at home.  This helps to assist in taking steps to reduce electricity consumption and lower utility bills.   • Electric Engraver: The Electric Engraver allows patrons to etch or engrave on most hard surfaces. Police recommend engraving valuables with a driver's license number or other personal identifier, since marked items are harder to dispose of and easier for police to recover.   • Wireless Hotspots: Wireless hotspots are portable, rechargeable devices that allow you to connect your own laptops, smartphones, and tablets to the internet for free, whether you're at home or on the road. For more information, please visit our wireless hotspots page.
