Annual Food Drive Seeks to Help Hungry in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia
Again in 2018, DeKalb County Public Library is partnering with DeKalb County Commissioner Kathie Gannon and other county departments to collect food to help people in need. The month-long drive is scheduled for February 12 through March 5.
All library branches will have containers where you can make donations during library hours. The donations will go to the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) for distribution. ACFB says the items most needed are canned fruit, vegetables, and meats; canned or dried beans, peas and lentils; paper products; diapers and toiletries. ACFB says about 14.5% of residents are food insecure in the 29 counties of Metro Atlanta and North Georgia that the organization serves.
