Donations to the DeKalb Library Foundation allowed DeKalb County Public Library to launch 1000 Books Before Kindergarten in early 2016 to encourage and support parents in reading early and often with their babies and toddlers. In the first year of the program, more than 5.000 participation materials were distributed throughout the county's libraries, at DeKalb Medical, and at the DeKalb County Board of Health. More than a dozen participants reached the 1000 book goal by the end of the year. This is an on-going program that will enhance the growth of young people in our community.
The Tobie-Grant Homework Center is always busy when it is open, and the students gain so much information and inspiration from Josiah G. whether he is facilitating interactive learning programs or simply helping with homework.
